Oran Park is Sydney's growth frontier. What was farmland and the old Oran Park Raceway just over a decade ago is now a master-planned town of more than 17,000 people, built around the Oran Park Town centre and still growing fast. It sits in the Camden Council area, and it is mostly young families in modern homes on smaller blocks — which means a lot of lawns that have only been in the ground a few years.
That newness is the whole story when it comes to mowing here. Nearly every Oran Park lawn is fresh turf laid over compacted clay builder fill, and how it is mown in those first months makes a real difference to whether it thrives or thins out. Adrian runs a regular Oran Park round and knows how to treat new turf — and everything else that comes with a brand-new garden.
One price, the whole job. Every standard mow in Oran Park includes:
Because Oran Park is so new, most of its lawns are recently laid turf — and new turf is not the same as an established lawn. Mown too early or too low, it gets pulled off the soil, scalped and stressed, and thins out. Mown correctly, it thickens up into a great lawn within a season. We hold off the first cut until the turf has rooted (usually 3 to 4 weeks after laying), keep the blade high on the first few visits, and never take more than a third of the leaf.
The other half is the ground underneath. Oran Park turf sits on compacted, clay-heavy builder fill that drains poorly and holds little nutrition, which is why so many new lawns look great for a few months then start to struggle. If yours is thinning or browning off, Adrian can topdress with quality topsoil and his own mulch to fix the soil, not just the surface. Our full guide — how often to mow your lawn in Oran Park — walks through new-turf timing, seasonal mowing and the common brown-patch causes.
Once your lawn is established, frequency follows the season. Through spring and summer (September to March) Sir Walter Buffalo grows fast — weekly mowing keeps it healthy without ever needing a hard cut. In autumn and winter (April to August) growth slows and fortnightly is usually plenty. Most Oran Park families settle on a regular round so the lawn never gets away, which also works out cheaper per visit than a one-off catch-up.
Most customers start with the mowing and add the rest as they need it — easy to bundle into the one visit.
Oran Park families are busy, and their lawns are young. Adrian keeps them looking after on a regular round and treats new turf the way it needs to be treated.
We cover the whole Camden corridor. Your suburb is likely on our regular round.
