Lawn Mowing in Cobbitty

Cobbitty is two suburbs in one — horse paddocks, turf farms and acreage on one side, and the new Mirvac estate streets on the other. Adrian mows both: a ride-on for the big rural blocks and paddocks, and a standard weekly or fortnightly round for the estate homes. Edges and blow-down included. From $70. Cobbitty is one of the more characterful suburbs we cover. It sits in the north of the Camden Council area, and most of it is genuinely rural — rural-residential blocks, horse properties, turf farms and orchards around the historic Cobbitty village, with an equestrian park and pony club that tell you what kind of area it is. Then on the eastern edge you have the new Mirvac masterplanned estate, with standard suburban house-and-land blocks going up.

That means two completely different mowing jobs in the one suburb, and Adrian is set up for both. A lifestyle block with a paddock needs a ride-on and a slash; a new estate home needs a tidy weekly cut with the edges done. Plenty of operators only do one or the other — we do both, often on the same round.

Acreage & rural

Big blocks, paddocks
and ride-on mowing.

Most of Cobbitty is larger than a standard suburban block, and that needs the right gear. Here is how we handle the rural side.

🚜
Ride-on mowing
Adrian runs a ride-on for acreage and big lifestyle blocks — it cuts the bulk of a large lawn quickly and evenly, then we finish the edges and tight spots by hand so it is neat, not just knocked down.
🌾
Paddock & long-grass slashing
Rural Cobbitty blocks get away fast after rain. We slash paddocks and long grass to keep the property tidy and keep the grass-fuel down through the warmer months.
🐴
Horse & lifestyle properties
Cobbitty is horse country. We keep house yards, laneways and paddock surrounds tidy on lifestyle and equestrian properties, worked around your animals and gates.
🌿
Vegetation & overgrowth clearing
Overgrown sections cleared, with all the green waste removed and taken away — leaving the block clean and ready to use.

Standard mowing for the Cobbitty estate homes

The newer Mirvac estate streets are standard house blocks, and we mow them the same way we do anywhere else — full lawn front and back, edging along every path and garden bed, the nature strip, and a blow-down of the hard surfaces at the end. A lot of these are freshly laid lawns, so we mow new turf carefully: we wait until it has rooted, set the blade high, and never take more than a third of the leaf. If a new lawn is browning off in patches, our guide on why lawns turn brown covers the usual causes, and Adrian can topdress with quality topsoil where the builder fill underneath is the real problem.

How often to mow — and keeping grass-fuel down

House lawns follow the seasons: weekly through spring and summer (September to March), fortnightly through autumn and winter. Paddocks and acreage are different — a slash every few weeks through the growing season usually keeps them tidy, then far less often once growth slows.

On rural blocks there is a safety angle too: long, dry grass is fuel. Keeping paddocks and the area around the house cut down over spring and summer is part of sensible property maintenance — the NSW Rural Fire Service recommends keeping grass short around buildings heading into the warmer months. We can set a slashing schedule that keeps your Cobbitty block tidy and the fuel load down.

FAQs

Cobbitty lawn mowing questions.

Do you do acreage and ride-on mowing in Cobbitty?
Yes. Cobbitty is mostly rural-residential and acreage, and Adrian runs a ride-on for big blocks, horse paddocks and lifestyle properties. The ride-on gets the bulk of a large block cut quickly and evenly, then we finish the edges and tight spots by hand so it still looks neat.
What is included in a standard lawn mow in Cobbitty?
For the standard house blocks — including the new Mirvac estate homes — every mow includes the full lawn, edging along paths and beds, the nature strip and a complete blow-down of hard surfaces. Clipping removal is available on request and included in the quote.
How much does mowing cost on a Cobbitty acreage block?
Standard house blocks start from $70. Acreage and paddock work is quoted on inspection because it depends on the area, the length of the grass and access — but Adrian gives you a clear, honest price for the real size of the job, not a flat rate that doubles when he arrives.
Can you slash paddocks and clear overgrown rural blocks in Cobbitty?
Yes. Rural Cobbitty blocks get away quickly, especially after rain. We mow and slash long grass on paddocks and lifestyle blocks, clear overgrown sections and take the green waste away — handy for keeping a property tidy and the grass-fuel down over summer.
Do you mow the new estate homes in Cobbitty?
Yes. The newer Mirvac estate streets are standard suburban blocks and we mow them on a weekly or fortnightly round like any other house — edges, nature strip and blow-down included. Many are newly laid turf, which we mow carefully until it has established.
How often should a rural block in Cobbitty be mowed?
House lawns are weekly through spring and summer, fortnightly through the cooler months. Paddocks and acreage are different — often a slash every few weeks through the growing season is enough, then less often in winter. Adrian works out a schedule that suits your block.
